The Glen Innes Arts Council
welcomes you to the Chapel Theatre |
PASTANCE Well folks, the Celtic Festival is over for another year. Pastance came, performed and went - leaving many new friends and admirers behind them. "Superb", "Sublime" and "Incredible" were the first words out of the first 3 people I asked for an opinion. Will they be back next year? I'd strongly bet on it! The Glen Innes Arts Council presents: An opportunity not to be missed! The amazingly talented Pastance in Concert at The Chapel!! This concert will be a highlight of The Australian Celtic Festival 2007 - don't miss it!! Pastance brings together a diversity of musical ingredients. Harp, lute, recorders, percussion and vocals are used in arrangements of Anglo/Celtic Folk, Medieval, and Renaissance tunes to create an exciting and unforgettable musical experience. Pastance - a trio of exceptionally talented musicians - were formed by Alex Cronin in 1991. Alex has performed with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Brandenburg Orchestra, Opera Australia and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra among others. (regulars will recognise Alex as the harpist / fiddle player with the Ragged Band). Pastance has played at some of Australia's largest folk festivals, including The National Folk Festival, (in fact one of the highlights of the National Folk Festival in Canberra this last Easter for me was attending a singing workshop run by Megan Cronin from Pastance) Port Fairy, Woodford, Jamberoo and Cobargo. Over the past 12 years Pastance have performed for over 200,000 school children in over 1,000 schools. This includes nine years with the Queensland Arts Council, six years with the Victorian Arts Council, as well as tours to Tasmania, South Australia and New Zealand. ONE CONCERT ONLY. DON'T MISS IT! Friday May 4th ("Luke Skywalker day" - sorry, couldn't resist!!) at 7:30 pm. Tickets are only $25. |
