The Full Monty dec 2008
The plot: Strapped for cash, Gary, inspired by The Chippendales, manages to talk 5 of his out of work friends into staging their own strip show and, in an attempt to beat the Chippendales, into going "The Full Monty" (British slang for "the full deal" - apparently derived from a suit by tailors Montague Burton which also included a waistcoat). Each has his own reason for agreeing. The strippers:
Gary: Stuart Moor is Gary (Gaz), the unemployed larrikin and ladies man. Desperate to retain partial custody of his son Nathan he needs the cash to afford the maintenance.
Dave: Graeme Quinn plays Gary's overweight and insecure best friend, trying to keep his marriage alive.
Gerald: Ashley Whitehead debuts as an unemployed foreman living a lie, especially to his high maintenance wife, rather than admitting to being unemployed.
Lomper: Rob Dulhunty is the loner security guard on the verge of suicide when rescued by Dave and Gary.
Horse: Denis Haselwood plays Horse, the "Funky-Chicken" dancing old-timer with the dodgy hip.
Guy: George Muckenschnabel plays the role of dance-loving Guy.
Their associates:
Nathan: Young, enthusiastic newcomer Ben McGee plays the role of Nathan, son of Gary and Mandy.
Lynda: Catie Macansh is Lynda, Gerald's credit card-loving wife.
Jean: Penny Lawrence is Jean, Dave's loving and understanding wife.
Mandy: Naomi Bain plays Mandy, Gary's not so loving or understanding wife.
Other Cast members: Jerome Hayden, Storm Sparks, Tamara Law & Fred Blair.

The Montgomery Laos Dental Project
The purpose of the Dental Project in Laos is to provide dental treatment
to those who cannot afford it. Changing lifestyles and diet has meant
there is an ongoing crisis in dental health and current services do not
meet the needs of the population. We intend this project to be a little
different to other charities in that we plan to make it self sustaining.
The dental surgery will operate as a business and the profits will be
used to treat people in isolated villages. We think that this will work
well because Luang Prabang is a busy tourist destination and the local
people tend to have more money and can afford to pay. The villagers
however are incredibly poor with bad dental health and have little
chance of treatment.
Laos is in SE Asia with a fantastic blend of Buddhist and colonial
French cultures, made all the more colouful by the many traditional
tribes. Laos was closed to outsiders following the Vietnam war until
about 1989. With travel being so accessible now the country has been
exposed to western culture and technology. As a result the country is
changing rapidly.
With our modest contribution we hope to ease this process in some way.
Ed Montgomery Tickets will be on sale from Carelles approx 3 weeks prior to the events. Do not delay, we expect both nights to sell out quickly!
