FEATURING

BRUCE MATHISKE - WORLD ACCLAIMED GUITAR VIRTUOSO

Bruce Mathiske's fiery fretwork of solo guitar orchestra playing bass, rhythm & melody at once, encompassing a huge range of genres from swing to Latin, Jazz to African, Folk to flamenco, gypsy to ambient/landscape simultaneously playing didgeridoo. you will be taken on a journey with infectious rhythms and fiery fretwork from far flung corners of his guitar."A model demonstration of guitar virtuosity and richness of Mathiske's musical palette. Marvel at the speed of his playing on Nashville Express with its hints of country. Be amused at how, with Slipstreaming and Caribbean Daze, he could easily be a member of Jimmy Buffet's band. And, as he wanders around the region, see how effortlessly he embraces smooth Latin sounds with Havana Nights and the richness of Spain and Mexico with El Martes Gracioso. Mathiske is quite simply, a great guitar player. Bruce Elder - Sydney Morning Herald July 2007

GEORGE GOLLA - GUITAR LEGEND

A much admired performer for his technical mastery of the guitar his swinging style, his Latin influences and also for his musicianship and friendly easy going manner and good humour. George remains one of the major figures of Australian Jazz most notably for his partnership with Don Burrows. George has toured the world and performed with all the greats including Stephane Grappelli. He is a great inspiration to guitar players everywhere and those like Bruce who follow on and tap into George's lifetime of musical knowledge and experience and marvel at what still is a remarkable player, with a remarkable career.

GREG YOUNG - GY - UKULELE DYNAMO

A guitarist for 40 years & converted to Ukulele after absorbing himself in various forms of world music. The colours & variations he emits from his Australian handcrafted Uke is a perfect ingredient in Bruce's recipe for Fiery fretwork. Greg mistakenly embarked on a UKE course after a humorous send up left him with a sincere love of the instrument. GY'S unique approach to Ukulele incorporating both strumming and picking techniques allows him to have his own distinct style covering genres such as Caribbean, Gypsy, Jazz and Blues, also laying down a vital accompanying role with Bruce. The highlight is the cleverly arranged Guitar/Uke duets with both Greg and Bruce exchanging musical phrases and sometimes the odd quizzical look
